This is a new type of steel that has been relatively successful in replacing 40Cr steel. It has high strength, hardness, wear resistance, and good toughness. Its hardenability is slightly higher than 40Cr, with a critical hardenability diameter of 18-33mm in oil. After normalization, it has good machinability and good performance in cold drawing, rolling, tapping, forging, and heat treatment processes. The grain growth, oxidation, decarburization tendency, and quenching deformation tendency are relatively small at high temperatures; But it has temper brittleness and slightly worse temper stability than 40Cr steel.
