Applications
For high pressures. Heavy-duty tools for cold forging like dies, plates, punches, stamps
Physical properties (average values) at ambient temperature
Modulus of elasticity [103 x N/mm2]: 210
Density [g/cm3]: 7.88
Soft Annealing
Heat to 710-750oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 210.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 870-900oC followed by oil quenching. Hardness after quenching is 63 HRC.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 130-300oC.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850oC.
