S355J2 is the most common high strength steel for construction that we sell. It is a non-alloy structural steel to EN10025-2 2004. With its increase yield strength of S355 MPa over other construction steels such as S275 and S235, it is an excellent choice for delivering critical components or major structural members. It is also the modern equivalent of the EN10025 1990 S355J2G3.
We have one of the largest stocks of S355J2 structural steel in Europe and use this for the benefit of our Asian Engineering customers to offer a range of plates that have excellent chemical and physical properties, and the thicknesses are not available in Asia or to offer large volumes of plate quickly when project timescales are short.
S355 J2 +N plates come with either a 3.1 or 3.2 MTC to EN10204. The difference is that the 3.2 plates have been independently verified by a third party inspector, usually Lloyds Register or DNV, whilst the 3.1 plates have been certified by the mill based on their ISO 9001: 2010 quality systems.
S355J2 and S355J2G3 are the same steel grades, because both grades' delivery condition are normalized. G3 and N stand for normalized.
