Applications
Tools for hot forging of light metals. Pressure casting tools, low stressed hot work tools, dies, mandrels, punchers, knives and moulds.

Physical properties (avarage values) at ambient temperature
Modulus of elasticity [103 x N/mm2]: 210
Density [g/cm3]: 7.82

Soft Annealing
Heat to 740-770oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 215.

Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 950-1000oC followed by oil quenching.

Tempering
Tempering temperature: 550-650oC.

Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850oC.
